Auction HouseSchley (Philippus) -- from catalog: Philippus van der Schley
Sale LocationHuize Roos, het Huis met de Hoofden, Keizersgracht, tussen de Heerenstraat en de Leliegracht, Amsterdam, Netherlands
Seller(s)from catalog: [None]
Lugt Number8770
NotesRKDH has some added lots, and gives the totals as f 4358.19. The MBB copy identifies the sellers. Four of the five pictures consigned by Karp had appeared as the property of "X" on Aug.23, 1808. Three of the pictures consigned by "Munk" had been bought in on Aug.6, 1810, as the property of "F."

The MBB copy of the catalogue has a list of the proprietors and the code letters assigned to their lots. There were 23 altogether. Three of them involved the dealer Jeronimo de Vries: H was Hardan represented by de Vries; and "T" and "U" also refer to him, apparently representing still other consigners. A few of the consigners are not identified.

This relatively large sale did not contain major items. With the exception of lots 2 (by Backhuysen) and 13 (supposedly by Poelenburgh in collaboration with J. Both), both of which were left unsold, everything was knocked down at very modest prices.
