NotesPrimarily a book sale The catalogues carries only the year and no date. According to Colin Bailey, the Partage de succession states the sale took place on July 1. And the full name was Marin Delahaye (1684-1753). He died on Oct.3, 1753. His inventory after death begins on Oct.13. "In the Partage de la Succession, drawn up on 29 July 1755 (MCLVII-415) each of the heirs - Marin's two brothers and his widow - report on any expenditure or monies received that pertain to the estate. Madame de la Haye lists monies received from the sale of works of art that took place on 1 July 1754. The painting[s] sold by Me Guichard are valued at 62,852 livres. This document contains the only reference I have come across to the date of the sale." [C. Bailey, letter April 27, 2000]
