Fredericksen) Van Hall was evidently born ca..1740 and was active in the political affairs of Amsterdam, but his profession has not yet been determined. The sale included just 25 lots of paintings by both older and contemporary artists, many of which fetched relatively low prices. Eight of them can be traced to a sale in 1802 (N-29) at which time they had been bought in as the property of an anonymous "D".
