John Cunningham brought to our attention an article written about William Corbett, which included a transcription of his will: Owain Edwards, The Musical Quarterly, Vol. 73, No. 3 (1989), pp.320-343. Corbett's will includes all 14 pictures included in the sale (11 paintings, 2 miniatures, and one watercolor). There are a few instances in which the will clarifies the artist, sitter, material, or subject of the picture, and this information has been included in the lot records.
