Sale Location[No.9] Warwick Street, Golden Square, London, England, UK
Seller(s)from catalog: Joseph Bonomi, Esq. and...an eminent Connoisseur, both deceased
Lugt Number7400
No. of Painting Lots22
NotesThe contents of this five-day sale were primarily drawings, most of them Italian, the property of the Italian architect Joseph Bonomi, who had died earlier in the year. The catalogue indicates that some lots also belonged to another, unnamed collector, who was likewise deceased, and makes no attempt to distinguish between the two properties. At the end of the last day of the sale were 24 lots of pictures -- all but two of them in oils -- the owner of which is not specified. These fetched modest prices and do not seem to have included anything of much importance. Bonomi's books and prints were sold by Philipe on May 13/14, 1808. (B. Fredericksen)
