NotesThe auctioneer is probably John Richards, auctioneer, Knightsbridge (Holden's 1799). "A Catalogue of the valuable and genuine collection of pictures, the productions of the Italian, Flemish, and Dutch schools, in high preservation, the works of the following esteemed masters...Also and India Gong, a Quantity of Gilt Frames, and sundry packing cases, the property of Mr. William Gilbert Podd, picture dealer, a bankrupt; which will be sold by auction, by the order of the assignee, by Mr. Richards, at the Great Room, in the Haymarket...Catalogues may be has as above, at No. 7, New Bond Street, and at M. Richards, Knightsbridge, new Hyde Park Corner." CIL copy has a hand note on the title page next to the seller name: "of Bell Savage yard, Ludgate Hill, or late from Bath." Two other handwritten notes appear at the bottom of page 4 of the RKDH copy; unclear what they refer to: "Graves, Esq. Upper Sey[...?] St. br[ought?] Pictures f[rom?] Italy lately." and "Mr Evans PrintSeller in Poultry[?]"
