Notes"A Catalogue of a capital assemblage of high-finished drawings, and some few pictures by eminent modern artists, collected by a Gentleman of the most approved taste in the fine arts; consisting of the works of the following master -- Hamilton, Barrett, La Porte, P. Samdby, Clerisseau, Ibbetson, Wheatley, Zucchi, Malton, &c. &c. The whole forming one of the most interesting collections of modern art. Amongst them is a complete set of drawings, by Malton, of the works of the late Sir Robert Taylor, and a variety of subjects adapted for engraving." The two main sellers are Malton and Munro, (the only other seller being Woolley, selling three of his own works.) Large group of pictures by [William] Hamilton being sold by Malton; see DNB for information on the Maltons. [The seller/artist Malton was Thomas junior, but I have not found a reason for the sale yet. JIAT] [The name "Mr. Theirray" was at one point linked to this record, but the source is unknown. It does not appear in the CL copy of the catalogue or in Lugt. Is it on the ISGB copy?]
