[The sale also included approximately 10 lots of prints, and approximately 16 lots of copper plates, many with prints and proof impressions.
M.H. Spielmann discussed in detail an annotated catalogue proof that belonged to the Dupont family. He also reprinted the announcement of the sale in the Morning Herald. See "A Note on Thomas Gainsborough and Gainsborough Dupont" in The Walpole Society, vol. 5, 1917, pp.91-108.
John Hays has suggested that lots 44-48, 55, 57-68, and 70-71 are by Gainsborough Dupont; see "The Drawings of Gainsborough Dupont" in Master Drawings, vol. III no. 3, pp.243-256.
