NotesThe seller is Sir Watts Horton, 2nd Bart. (1753-1811) of Chadderton Hall. Unknown why he is selling from his London mansion in 1796. Most of the paintings are listed as coming from Tassaert or Christie's stock.
"A catalogue of all the superb household furniture, magnificent french glasses, fine porcelane, collections of pictures, inlaid commodes, quoigns, pier tables, drawing room suits in rich brocaded sattin, french clocks, or-moulu candelabras, modern cut-glass chandeliers and girandoles, two sedan chairs, a fine-toned double-keyed harpsichord by Kirckman, and a greaty variety of curious and valuable effects, the property of Sir Watts Horton, Bart. at his mansion, No 12, on the North Side of Upper Brook Street, Grosvenor Square."
