NotesThe seller was John Ashburham, 1st Earl of Ashburnham, 1687-1737.

"A Catalogue of the Entire Houshold-Furniture, &c. of the Right Honourable John, Earl of Ashburnham, (Deceased.). Consisting of rich Genoa Damask, and other Beds, Chairs, and Hangings; some exceeding fine sets of Brussels Tapestry; Cabinets, Screens, Chests, of the old Japan; a very fine side-board of wrought and other Plate. Particularly a set of Dressing-Plate which belong'd to her Late Majesty Queen Mary. As likewise a fine Collection of Pictures; some old Japan China; a large wardrobe, and many other valuable and curious effects. Which will be sold by auction, on Tuesday the 24th of May, 1737, and the following days, at his Lordship's late Dwelling-House in St. James's Square. The Goods, &c. may be view'd at the Place of sale, on Wednesday the 18th instant and every day after (Sunday excepted) till the Hour of Sale, which will (by Desire) begin exactly at Half an hour after 11 o'Clock each day. Catalogues may be had Gratis, at the Place of Sale, and at Mr. Cock's in the Great Piazza, Covent-Garden. N.B. By reason of the Whitsun Week, the Sale is deferr'd from Friday the 27th, inst. to Wednesday June 1".
