The seller was Thomas Snelling, the printseller, ca.1749-ca.1788, son of Thomas Snelling, the numismatist, who had a posthumous sale in 1774. The son had sales in 1781 and 1782, "leaving off collecting," and then this apparent posthumous sale in 1788.
