John Trevor, 3rd Viscount Hampden (1748/49-1824) was the younger brother of the 2nd Viscount and was apparently called the Hon. Mr. Trevor until he became the 3rd Viscount, a few weeks before his death. He did, in fact, "go abroad" and was a diplomat to Munich and and then Turin from 1780-1798.
