Sale Location | l'Hôtel d'Aligre, rue Saint Honoré, Paris, France | Seller(s) | from catalog: M***. from other sources: [Fournel] | Expert | Joullain, François | Lugt Number | 2592 | Notes | AKW, JPGM and both RKDH copies have "Tableaux" crossed out and replaced with "Desseins (and vice versa) signifying that the sale was to start with the drawings and continued with the paintings. BNP and EBNP also.
AAP is inscribed "Fournelle" BPG inscribed "fournel", also on p.3. BNP and RKDH I both inscribed "Fournelle". EBNP is "Fournelle". Either spelling is feasible, but he might be related to the commissaire priseur of the same name who was active in the early 19th century and who spelled it "Fournel". In one annotation he is described as "Marchand de tableaux". Many of the drawings had been purchased by Fournel at the Danser Nijman sale of July 8 ff, 1776, just three months prior.
