NotesCaulet d'Hauteville died in 1775. A very large proportion of the lots in this sale had appeared in the earlier 1774 sale of his pictures. And the earlier sale included as many as 34 lots that were previously in the"de Jaback" sale of 1772. At least 17 lots in the present sale are found in the sale of Caulet's daughter, Louise-Jeanne Dupont, catalogued in 1803 (F-40) and then sold in 1807 (F-133).
