Title page of BML copy has handwritten correction to the date, changing it from th 7th to the 17th. According to newspaper citations, the sale did start on the 7th, and continued until the end of February (and after a break, the same sale started up again on March 28th, only a quarter of the pictures having sold in February). Title page reads: "At Mr Knyff's House, In The Old Palace-Yard, Adjoyning to the Stairs going up to the House of Lords, On the 7th of this instant February, 1706/7. will be sold by Auction, a Curious Collection of Original Pictures.
