Perier's books were sold May 23 ff., 1758, after his death, and most likely this sale of his art collections took place about the same time. He was possibly Jacques Perier, (1766-1758) a business man and ancestor of Casimir Perier, who, however, apparently lived in Grenoble, not Paris. Our Perier was buying paintings in 1756-1757, and as late as Feb.18, 1758.
